i hope your holidays are filled with lots of love, pie and booze.
last friday was our creative marketing department’s holiday party. we had a fun evening at a karaoke bar downtown filled with beer, props, trophies, dancing, and white elephant gifts. two of the girls on the team and i sang and choreographed moves to vanilla ice “ice ice baby”. not my finest moment, but it’s entertaining. white girls in cocktail dresses trying to rap and dance…. you can view the performance here.
my favorite ornaments on our christmas tree are the ones that are homemade. my mom made the ice skates with paper clips for the blades when she was a kid. i made the sled out of popsicle sticks when i was a kid too.
one of our family traditions is to make dozens and dozens of cookies. my sister took on the task this year and i only entered the kitchen for a couple taste tests.
tonight is our marketing department’s holiday party. i’m wearing the beautiful kate spade eleanor dress. i’m a bit on the short side so i took off the 4th tier. it’s the perfect cocktail party dress. our party is at a fun karaoke bar downtown and two of the girls and I have a song picked out. we are practicing our dance moves later. wish us luck.
it’s so cold in new york, it hurts to go outside. i’m going to go visit my family in south florida for the holidays and i can’t wait to break out my spring and summer clothes.
re: the comments about it being cold: there will be a high of 78 when i arrive this weekend, and high 70s the rest of the week. i will be by the pool.
i had a soft launch of my stationery line recently. someone in st. louis just bought 4 sets of the ‘hydrangeas’ design. two of the illustrations came from this blog, and the other two are new ones that you’ve never seen. go check them out on my etsy site, they’re so fun. they would make a really great stocking stuffer for your mom, sister, or bestfriendforever.
while at the real simple pop up shop picking up gifts for my loved ones, i bought myself something too. i’ve been on the hunt for a cute pair of gloves to use with my iphone, and real simple found these super cute ones from echo design! they have a fun ruffle on them and came in so many colors.
guest post! today i’d like to introduce you to alyse ronayne. she is a very talented illustrator and one of her favorite materials to use is glitter. i have always admired her work and i hope you will as well. on her tumblr you will find images of her sparkly artwork. she doesn’t update enough, but i like the people that don’t flood your dashboard.
happy birthday to my lovely friend john jannuzzi.
i hope your birthday is filled with lots of cake and love.
